Welcome to a day in my life, where chaos meets productivity. This blog post is a glimpse into my daily life as a new mom of three, and moments that makes the chaos all worth it.
Today was the first day I had to balance taking care of all three kids alone! I was very nervous because mornings in the Bell Household either goes really smooth or extremely hectic.
My day started early, around 5:40 AM. I woke up and dragged myself out of bed. The pain from childbirth is still present, and the hip pain is horrific right now. I started the day by fixing breakfast for myself and the kids. For me, mornings are a whirlwind. Getting the kids ready for school is the hardest part of the day. We have a routine: breakfast, brush teeth, (I fix the lunch), put on uniforms, and run out the door to get loaded in the car.
- Tips that helped our mornings go smooth:
- All clothes/uniforms ironed
- fixing lunch at night, or knowing what will be fixed
- knowing what breakfast will be served
- having wiggle room in the time so you’re not rushing and just in case if the kids are acting wild and out the box.
Bensley (the baby) and I, dropped all the kids off at school, and was back home by 7:55am. As Bensley slept, I read the Bible and worked on blog post.
Around 10 am, I fed Bensley and changed him. We both fell asleep until 1 pm. I didn’t realize how exhausted I was.
I normally leave around 1:30 to get the kids from school but I didn’t leave until 2pm. After school we stopped for frozen custard, at Eddie’s Frozen Custard, completed Homework, and had snack time. It’s a hard balance to supporting each child needs and give them each attention with a demanding newborn.
We start bedtime around 6-7pm. Tonight we started at 6pm with bath time because Blaise had to study for a test, and we both needed a break from homework. By 8:00 PM, it’s time for Blaise to go to bed–we have the most trouble waking him in the AM. Braxsyn is normally sleep by 9pm. & the baby downtime has been fluctuating between 8pm-10pm.
I haven’t really set in place a routine for myself, I normally do my skincare regimen, and take a bath before crashing– until the baby wakes up for a feeding.
Balancing family life is a journey. It’s not always perfect, but it’s so worth it. Each day I learn something new, and I cherish every moment.
Thank you for reading!! Tomorrow is a new day with its own challenges and joys, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
